If you were to ask Rex
to describe hair styling and color, his eyes immediately light up, his hands
begin to tell you about the Golden Mean...2/3rds classic, 1/3
design. If you ask his countless clients, some who wait 4-6 months just
for an appointment, their eyes light up as well, describing his magic, the
hairstyle they always wanted but could never describe correctly to a stylist
before, their feeling of exuberance after an appointment. Rex acquired his love
for hair as a very young child starting training at 15 years old. He has
always been obsessed with color, remembering back to his earliest days as a
child in his grandmother’s kitchen watching her mix bluing rinse and pouring
over her hair. He believes that
because no two people are the same, no two hair colors should be either.
" I look at each person’s genetics and natural tones to create a perfect
color. A beautiful hair color cannot come pre-packaged in a box. A
woman's hair color should be organic and individual. Therefore, I use a
wide range of tints and tones of color to create a natural "painting"
full of depth, shade, and reflection so that the color will ultimately
appear brighter. Mixtures of colors will enhance a woman's facial
features making her skin appear more alive. "I work with
the elements of light reflection, a subtle yet powerful combination of tones
and highlights. It requires blending many colors to get the richness and
depth of color necessary for the goal I have in mind. Just think of your
